  • How fast will my broadband be?
    We'll give you the fastest broadband your phone line can handle. The top speed will depend on the quality of your phone line and where you live.
  • How much can I download?
    As much as you want! Our Essentials package has an unlimited download allowance giving you access to as much music, film and TV as you like.
  • Why do you ask for my telephone number?
    We need your phone number so we can check the phone line at your address. This also helps us to calculate the broadband speed you can get. If our checks show there isn't a working phone line at your address you may need a new one. This isn't a problem, you simply tell us a convenient date and time for one of our friendly engineers to visit.
  • Why do you charge line rental for broadband?
    Line rental is the cost that all phone and broadband providers charge for an active phone line into your home. Some providers use phone lines that are owned by BT which can mean higher line rental. At TalkTalk we own all our telephone lines and that's why we can offer such great value broadband and competitive priced line rental. You could save even more by taking our annual Value Line Rental.
  • Can I keep my phone number?
    Most customers can keep their existing phone number. However if you need a new phone line, are moving house or switching from Virgin Media we will provide you with a new phone line and a new phone number.
  • What happens if I'm switching from another broadband provider?
    Switching to TalkTalk couldn't be easier. All you need to do is choose the package you want and we take care of the rest. Your old service will be cancelled as soon as your TalkTalk service starts so there won't be any overlap and you won't be double-charged. Your previous provider will credit you for any unused line rental.

Our unlimited UK Evening & Weekend landline calls are available between 7pm to 7am, weekdays & between midnight Friday & midnight Sunday. The offer applies to UK numbers starting 01, 02, 03, 0845 & 0870 only but excludes calls to Channel Island, dial-up internet, indirect access & all other numbers. The maximum call time is 60 minutes per call but if you would like to keep chatting you can call back before 60 minutes to avoid our standard call rate charges.

Unlimited calls to TalkTalk customers

We offer unlimited calls between most TalkTalk customers; we have over 4 million of them. Unfortunately this offer doesn't relate to calls made through a TalkTalk four-digit access code or dialler box. The maximum call time is 3 hours per call but if you would like to keep chatting you can call back before 180 minutes to avoid our standard call rate charges.

Add entertainment channels: 30 day minimum commitment. Additional monthly cost. Boosts range from £5 to £45 a month.
All Boosts have a minimum one-month commitment. Once added, you'll continue to receive the Boost until you opt-out or your contract ends. We'll aim to have the Boost activated within 48hrs, however, in certain cases it may take longer. If you have recently moved house or received a new phone line, the line will need to go live before the Boost can be activated. If we are unable to provision the Boost from the start of the billing period, you'll be charged the pro-rated amount. You must give 48hrs notice to remove a Boost.

TV Boost structures and prices are subject to change. Programmes and channels are subject to change. Channels on all purchased TV Boosts are only available via the TalkTalk Player and you will not have the ability to record any programming via your free YouView box in the TalkTalk Player. For boosts to be available instantly, please activate on screen.


Boosts

All Boosts have minimum duration of 30 days at a time. Once added, you'll continue to receive the Boost until you opt-out or your contract ends. We'll aim to have the Boost activated within 48hrs, however, in certain cases it may take longer. If you have recently moved house or received a new phone line, the line will need to go live before the Boost can be activated. If we are unable to provision the Boost from the start of the billing period, you'll be charged the prorated amount. You must give 48hrs notice to remove a Boost prior to the end of the 30-day billing period that applies to your account. Notice received after the monthly cut-off time will be actioned at the end of your next billing period. If the Boost is removed through a customer's bill cycle the full charge will still apply & is non-refundable. You can change your Boosts via Customer Services or talktalk.co.uk/myaccount.

500 Global Minutes Boost

*1p per minute based on customer making 25 calls at 20 minutes each (average call time on TalkTalk base). Comparison against BT, Virgin, Sky and Plusnet landline to international landline and mobile rates. Partial minutes are rounded up to the nearest minute and deducted from allowance. Minutes can be used to call any of the defined International destinations at anytime, click here for full list. 60 minutes max duration per call applies, usage above 60 minutes will be charged in accordance with our discounted international tariff. Inclusive minutes don't roll over & any unused minutes are lost. Minutes used are rounded up & deducted from the inclusive allowance.

1000 Mobile Minutes Boost

*£50 saving based on a customer making 250 calls at 2mins, charged at a Daytime-Evening average blended rate of 9.95ppm with standard call connection fee of 13.87p. Actual saving figure up to £73.
